So this morning I ran my first official pace run. In my last post when I said i’m following hal higdon’s training guide … really the only thing I truly follow is the long runs. But since I would really like to qualify for Boston I decided I need to throw some pace runs into my training.
So this morning I ran a warm up mile starting at 6.7 mph and worked up to 7.1, then had to switch treadmills because it wouldn’t hold the 7.2 pace! So weird! Kept bouncing around. So I grabbed the only open treadmill and ran 5 miles at 7.2mph which is 8:19 mile (and at a 1% incline). Man it was tough. It was really hot in the gym this morning. 😛 but I finished and I feel great for attempting to train better!
