28 weeks

28 wks
How far along? 28 Weeks – welcome to the 3rd trimester! Baby Urie is weighing in at 2 1/4 pounds and measuring 15 inches from head to heels. He can blink his eyes, and is now sporting lashes. His eyesight is developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through my belly (we should play with flashlights!). He’s also developing billions of neurons in his brain (he’ll be smart like his Momma) and adding more body fat (yay! baby CHUNK!) in preparation for life in the outside world.

Total weight gain: a healthy amount, thankyouverymuch.

Maternity clothes? oh yea… went shopping 2 weeks ago and got a few more tops and a pair of shorts.

Stretch marks? just barely starting to see some. I knew I’d get them. They’re just adding to the ones I’ve had since puberty. Out of all the things that pregnancy can bring, this was the least of my worries.

Sleep: doing pretty well this week. Definitely feeling a little more fatigued in the morning. Baby Urie must be growing like a WEED!

Best moment this week: my Aunt Kimmie and cousin Sydnee came for a quick visit this weekend and my Mom and I met up with them and went on a mini shopping spree for Baby Urie. Got some of the essentials – swaddle blankies, bottles, binkees, crib sheets, a baby carrier (the K’tan) and a few outfits. We’re so lucky. 🙂

Miss Anything? sleeping on my belly. Occasionally I’ll try laying on my stomach… and it’s just so awkward, that I flip over after a minute or so.

Movement: oh boy! he is moving like crazy! I’m starting to feel him a lot more during the day. I used to feel him move mainly at night or first thing in the morning.  Now… he’s moving all the time! I love it. It’s the coolest feeling in the world. 🙂

Food cravings: Diet Coke and Iced Coffee.

Anything making you queasy or sick: The smell at the new gym. We moved our CrossFit gym into an old barn – which is super cool. But… in the heat… the barn smell and the sweaty BO scent  *gag*

Gender: BOY!

Labor Signs: Nope. thank goodness!

Symptoms: Getting round ligament pain again… especially when I try to run. & swelling… ugh.

Belly Button in or out? innie… but it’s feeling funny. I have a feeling it will flatten out and POP soon!

Wedding rings on or off? on… but it’s getting tight. Starting to get some swelling in my hands & feet… BOO!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!

Looking forward to: We got the go-ahead from our landlord to re-do our closets, so Diz & I have been scouring Pinterest and planning the new layout. We also signed up for our Prenatal Seminar classes (they start in July) and I’m excited/nervous to learn about the birth process. 🙂

Olivia didn’t want to be in the pictures… lol. So she decided to lick me to death. 😉

Gah. It is getting closer! Sounds like you are doing well. And you look great. I can’t believe you are still doing Crossfit. You are seriously my idol. But in a barn…in the heat? I almost gagged just reading about it!

Do I like my stretch marks? No. But did I get bent when I go them? Na. No one sees my stomach but the mr and I so who gives a crap? lol. Speaking of Ross, if he every brushed up against my belly button (when it became an outie) he would freak out because it grossed him out that that skin used to be on the INSIDE of my body. Ha. He is weird.

I think baby Urie is telling you that we need to get lunch or fro yo soon. 😉

I had the round ligament pain too and had to stop running pretty early. I had to sub rowing. Oh man by the end I was so happy my belly was too big to row too, I got so tired of it!! You look great. Can’t wait to see this little man!!
