So I just realized that I’ve never posted about all the great baby showers I’ve had.
So why not post about them now… since I’m due TOMORROW! 🙂
My first shower was on July 17th at my work – and holy cow did I get spoiled!
One of my favorite gifts was this quilt from my friend Kathy. We have kind of a running joke about Mormon and Catholic quilts at our office. My Mom makes Catholic quilts (aka flannel tied quilts) and Kathy makes Mormon quilts (patchwork, very detailed, quilts) and I got my (well Baby Urie) first Mormon quilt. It’s got minky squares and it’s SO soft and cuddly. Baby Urie is going to love it.
We got our pack n’ play, a high chair, our exersaucer, and our swing, among tons of other great gifts – lots of clothes, diapers, wipes, and toys.
The next shower was at my Mom’s house on August 3rd. My aunt Kimmie and cousin Brooke came down from Idaho and helped my Mom (since she was still recovering from her back surgery).
I got tons of great stuff from family and friends. Lots of blankies, cute clothes, more diapers and toys, and cool cookbook for baby food.
Then, last weekend we had my shower with Sundance’s family. I didn’t take very many pictures – because when you’re 38 weeks pregnant – you don’t want to be photographed. BUT… Susy and Cathy (Diz’s Mom & aunt) made THE CUTEST diaper cakes! OMG. I was SO impressed.
this one was “monster” themed – they found these cute monster diapers at Babies R Us and themed the rest of the cake around them. Lots of cute monster stuffed animals, Yo Gabba Gabba Vans, a book, bibs, socks and baby spoons/forks.
and the Boo cake. Susy and Cathy are fans of Boo and found the little stuffed Boo dog and a book to match, so they had to do a “Boo” cake. Apparently Boo has his own facebook fan page – check it out! 🙂
We got spoiled at this shower too… lots of cute Gap clothes… omigosh – Baby Urie will be stylin’! We got more diapers, a Little Tykes basketball hoop, a Bumbo, books and bottles.
Diz and I are so fortunate to have so many great friends and family that love Baby Urie just as much as we do. After all our showers were done, the only things I had to buy were newborn diapers and a hygiene kit (needed the little nose sucker thingee). Seriously. That’s it. Call us spoiled. Or blessed. Or lucky. Just know we are so thankful for everything. 🙂
